Tool

What you get with the Redact PDF

True removal

Redacted pages are flattened to images with the boxes burned in, so the hidden text no longer exists in the file.

Draw boxes visually

Drag over the page preview; click a box to remove it before saving.

Only what you redact changes

Pages without boxes stay exactly as they were, with selectable text.

Never uploaded

Sensitive documents stay on your device from start to finish.

How to use the Redact PDF

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Drag across the page preview to draw black boxes over sensitive content.
  3. Click Redact and download, then check the result.

Questions

Is the text really removed?

Yes. Pages with redactions are turned into images with the black boxes burned in, so the original text underneath no longer exists in the file. Pages without redactions stay unchanged.

Why is text on redacted pages no longer selectable?

Because the page is flattened to an image to guarantee removal. That is the trade-off for secure redaction.

Is my document uploaded?

No. Redaction happens in your browser, so sensitive files never leave your device.
