Questions
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price; markup is profit as a share of the cost. Buying at 75 and selling at 100 is a 25% margin but a 33.33% markup.
How do I price for a 30% margin?
Price = cost ÷ (1 − 0.30). Switch to "Find price for a target margin" to calculate it.
Should I include delivery costs in my cost?
Yes. Include every cost of selling the item, such as delivery, packaging and payment fees, or your margin will look better than it is.
