How to convert JPG to PDF on your phone

4 min read · Updated October 2026

Banks, universities, embassies and employers often ask for documents "as one PDF". If all you have is photos on your phone, here's how to convert them, with no computer needed.

Any phone: in your browser

  1. Open JPG to PDF in your phone's browser.
  2. Tap the upload box and choose your photos.
  3. Arrange them with the arrows and pick A4 or Letter.
  4. Tap Convert and download.

Photos stay on your phone; they're converted in the browser. DocNova also reads each photo's rotation information, so pages don't come out sideways.

iPhone: Files app

  1. In Photos, select the pictures, tap Share, then Save to Files.
  2. In Files, tap Select, choose the images, then tap the More (…) button and choose Create PDF.

iPhone: print-preview trick

  1. In Photos, select the pictures and tap Share, then Print.
  2. On the preview, spread two fingers apart on a page to open it as a PDF.
  3. Tap Share, then Save to Files.

Android

Options vary by phone maker. Some gallery apps offer "Print" to "Save as PDF", but it usually handles one image at a time. The browser method above is the simplest way to combine several photos.

Make it readable and small

  • Photograph documents flat, in good light, with no shadows.
  • If there's an upload limit, compress the photos first with Compress image; about 1,600 pixels wide is plenty for documents.
  • iPhone HEIC photos: set Camera, then Formats, to Most Compatible to save JPGs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix JPG and PNG files?

Yes. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF (first frame) can all go into the same PDF, one image per page.

Why did my photo come out sideways in other apps?

Phones often save photos sideways and add a note saying how to rotate them. Some converters ignore that note. DocNova reads it, so pages come out upright.

What page size should I choose?

A4 for most countries and Letter for the USA and Canada when the document may be printed. Choose "Same as image" for screenshots and photos viewed on screen.

Is there a limit?

No daily limit. Each image can be up to 40 MB.

Install DocNova

The app is free, opens like a normal app, and works offline for tools you've used.
